The centre is within the delightful village of Buckland Monachorum which is 20 minutes north of the City of Plymouth, and close to the road to Tavistock. It is just a mile from the boundary of the Dartmoor National Park where 368 square miles of granite moorland, dissected by many cascading rivers, rise to over 2000 feet (600 metres), in Britain's most southerly widerness.
